Fear of Social Implications of Climate Change

Saint Joseph’s sports marketing major – class of 2021 shares his experience of becoming aware of the seriousness of the climate change issue, as well as what could happen to humanity in the future, in addition to the effects it has already inflicted on our society and environment.

A full transcript of the interview reads as follows:

“Everything has become political so how you feel about the environment could determine where you fall on the political spectrum for whatever reason and then it just becomes another argument between two political parties that gets no change anywhere so that’s kinda where we are with the environment were kinda at like an impasse where something that’s not political has become political.  I think some people are always open to change.  I think the older generation has become more progressive as the years have gone on, but there are many people who are just stuck in the ways of what they were raised in.  its sometimes not their fault, it’s just what they know but you have to hope that people can change their minds with the information that’s given to us.  So, I think at some point, hopefully in the next ten years humanity can realize hey we actually need to make major changes with the environment.  So just kinda hoping off that idea hopefully that world governments see that now there’s an issue and we have to put our funds towards that globally.  I think you could hope that like a new president coming in could hopefully put in more laws and plans to help the environment.  But you could also see it from well what has really changed in twenty years other than going downwards so can a political party really change anything?  So I guess it’s just hoping that the younger generations continue to push for like you know more environmental like care.”
